A Room of One's Own

In her painting project from 2023, "A Room of One's Own," Naiting uses soothing colors and layers of thick acrylics to capture cherished moments in her personal space. The creation process serves as a form of self-dialogue for her.
These artworks transcend the canvas, becoming love letters sent to her safe haven, seeking protection and blessings for her life in a foreign country.

這系列 《自己的房間 A Room of One’s Own》，是一場與生活空間的對話，在倫敦生活的六年，對我來說是一場長長的自我對話，從小不斷移動的人生裡從台南、台北、桃園、嘉義，然後是倫敦，倫敦則是我有記憶以來住過最長的地方，在異鄉安定下來的這幾年非常寧靜，靜靜的觀察自己，用心的選擇、淘汰在生活裡的物品，偶爾也會與我的空間對話，感謝他們容納我、保護我、陪伴我長成我的樣子 。畫裡面有我在歐洲與英國各地旅行時帶回來的古董、自己做的陶器、一起生活的貓。有人說認識自己就像打造一間屋子，在喜歡的空間裡嘗試妝點，漸漸會找到最喜歡的模樣。
這系列我使用壓克力顏料，是讓我最感到自由的媒材，平靜的色彩層層疊疊，畫下每一個我所愛的角落與物品，因為知道現在的空間將不會是一輩子，所以想要用自己的方式記錄下來喜歡的日子。 希望在畫裡觀者也能感受到這些角落與物品的歲月靜好。過程中更加親密的凝視著空間，展開一個美好探索自我的小世界。希望從我眼裡看見的溫柔畫面可以啟發觀者，連結到自己日常裡的美好卻的瑣碎小事，透過與空間的對話，找到自己的模樣，內心的平靜。
